To support novice principals, the LDOE has created the Novice Principal Academy. This program will be a collaboration between novice principals (within their first two years of principalship) and experienced principals. It will be a year-long cohort with mandatory attendance for all "in-person" days. Our "in-person" meetings are tentatively scheduled for July 16-17, 2026; January 20, 2027; and Day 2 of the Teacher Leader Summit Summer 2027.
The participation fee (billed to systems or paid by the individual principal or the principal's school) is $1,000. This fee must be paid before September 30, 2026.
The application is due in its entirety by July 6, 2026.
