Course Code Requests
Course codes are created once per year in response to field requests and as needed by LDOE staff requests. Requests are due by October 1 annually for the following academic year. Following Departmental review, notification of the decision for each request will be delivered, via email, to the school system point-of-contact on the request form. New and updated course codes will be announced in May as part of the System Enhancements Update for the following academic year (example: May 2026 will announce course code updates for the 2026-2027 SY). Note: Submissions are only considered if submitted by a school system; vendors may not submit requests. For more information, email analytics@la.gov.
For a submission to be considered for a new code, it must meet one of the below criteria. Please check all that apply.*

The proposed course will be a core course which counts towards graduation.The proposed course will be part of an existing or new Jump Start 2.0 or K-16 STEM pathway.The proposed course should be considered as worth 5 Quality Points (policy approval/change required).
